Lean White Belt (LWB)
Lean Certification Program
This unique certification course provides intensive exposure to the principles and practices needed to grow and sustain a Lean Enterprise.
CITEC’s Lean White Belt certification program helps companies develop internal Lean capabilities and realize tremendous results using our proven learn-share-implement format.
Participants learn key Lean topics during a series of full-day workshops, bring those topics back to your facility to share with others and complete small implementation assignments. CITEC's Lean Coaches provide support for participants and help them focus the Lean lessons on a specific area of opportunity at your facility for bigger impacts.
Through their active participation in this powerful program, your attendees will have the opportunity to understand and implement Lean improvement to create positive change for your organization.
Taking over where single-day or week-long training leaves off, completion of this Lean White Belt certification program means participants will be able to:
The opportunity for real change at your company is only realized when you develop a foundation for Lean that includes knowledgeable Lean champions who understand the tools, can share their understanding with others and can assist with Lean implementation initiatives. Don’t miss this important opportunity for developing the foundational knowledge of lean your company needs to realize real improvements!
Highlights for 2013
Based on the success of last year, we are again offering companies that commit to having at least three participants at Lean-certification training the opportunity to take what they were learning in the classroom and work with CITEC’s Lean experts to achieve results through a complimentary Kaizen implementation event. The impacts realized through those Kaizens were outstanding – more than paying for their participants to attend the training!
A few examples from 2012 participants’ Kaizens:
New to the Lean White Belt program in 2013, CITEC is adding an introduction to Lean workshop for participants and their managers / supervisors to attend at the beginning of the series to increase your opportunities for a high-impact training program!
We know that supportive supervisors and managers make all the difference in making sure Lean White Belt candidates attend each session, complete their assignments between sessions and start to use what they learn to make improvements. We also know that supervisory / management support all begins with having an understanding of Lean principles and opportunities. Lean 101: Principles of Lean is a highly-interactive, full-day workshop that will introduce your LWB candidates and their supervisors to Lean.
Normally offered at $295/person or higher, we are offering this workshop to provide the critical information your supervisory staff will need to support the efforts of your Lean White Belt candidates. (Please note: There are space limitations because of the workshop’s simulations, so qualifying attendees will be limited to direct supervisors / managers of registered attendees, with a maximum of three attendees per registered LWB participant.)
Additional assistance in Value Stream Mapping has also been included for 2013! Real improvements in Lean will only be realized when you identify where waste exists currently, where you would like to end up and how you can best get there. Value Stream Mapping is a must for any Lean initiative to be effective, so our Lean coaches will work with the attendee(s) from each company to map current and future state Value Stream Maps – significantly improving your LWB candidate(s)’s opportunities for success. (Up to 8 hours of expert coaching is available at no additional fee … a $1000+ value.)
Same important topics covered in less time. New for 2013, our expert Lean instructors will cover all of the foundational Lean topics we’ve always covered in our Lean certification series; but, this year, we’ve compressed the series schedule to 7 months from 11. Now, instead of once a month for 11 months, participants attend classroom sessions once every three weeks – which allows you to get your certification more quickly but still leaves ample time between sessions to complete the required homework assignments.
Program Schedule / Topics:
Full-day workshops cover several key Lean topics at each session, with classes scheduled about every three weeks so that participants can learn the concepts in class and have time between sessions to complete assignments that help them share their knowledge with coworkers and conduct a small, focused project at their company to implement the techniques they’ve learned.
This format both helps the attendee fully understand the concepts, as well as creates an atmosphere of knowledge sharing not found in other training programs. Our coaches and your managers help to make sure the attendees complete the assignments and realize impacts for your organization.
Participants are required to attend and be active participants at all sessions, as well as complete their in-plant assignments in order to be considered and certified in the Lean White Belt program.
