Objective:
Provide management assistance to manufacturing companies, technology-based
business, and economic development organizations located in Northern New
York in order to help them improve their competitive position by identifying
and implementing new business management methods.
Summary:
In addition to serving as CITEC's Executive Director, Tom works with clients
from throughout the six North Country counties. He has 20 years of experience
in economic development work during which he has written, planned, and managed
construction projects, managed rental properties, created and managed loan
funds, written successful grant applications, overseen environmental compliance
projects, and implemented consulting services.
Activities in Northern New York:
On behalf of North Country companies wrote all or part of seven successful
funding applications for State funding for energy, employee training, and
safety projects. Developed the financing for four industrial buildings, oversaw
design of the same buildings, and managed their construction. Wrote all or
parts of seven successful Small Cities grant applications as well as more
than a dozen similar funding requests to federal and State business financing
programs. Assisted five North Country companies in accessing over $425,000
in North Country Alliance Loan Funds. Working with other CITEC staff members,
helped design and implement marketing campaigns for five North Country economic
development organizations.
