How to Sustain Lean Gains

Lean White Belt certification has been a cornerstone offering for CITEC for the better part of two decades for good reason. Understanding and implementing Lean practices creates positive change in any organization. We really believe that because in addition to seeing it over and over with our clients, our Lean coaches have lived it throughout their careers. Our team's commitment to Lean culture and deep experience with the tools and precepts of Lean transfer the energy and knowledge necessary to drive continuous improvement throughout the organizations we serve.


Our clients have told us that while they feel strongly that the Lean White Belt training we provided their floor staff helped build the Lean culture they were looking for in their organizations, they need more people who can lead kaizens, more people who feel confident to identify and suggest solutions to problems. They want to empower more of their staff to take ownership in the processes they work with. That is, after all, the pillar of Lean.


Consequently, we are rebuilding our Lean White Belt program. We are consolidating the Lean tools unit so our clients can still offer part of this program to their newer floor staff if they choose to; but we are adding elements that develop people and promote acceptance, energy and sustainability. There is a strong focus on the leadership skills it takes to engage coworkers, facilitate meetings, and light a fire under a team to coalesce; there is a project component so our clients realize immediate, quantifiable results from staff training as they choose a problem to solve and solve it (with our additional coaching); and then there is the sustainability factor -- ensuring that the gains made sustain and are translated to future endeavors.
